Rebecca "Becky" Lou Frye

Rebecca "Becky" Lou Frye was born on November 14, 1962, to Alfred and Bonnie (Mosbey) Hunt at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, Iowa. The love of her family surrounded her as she departed this earth on September 1, 2024, at the MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. On April 11, 1987, Becky married Bob Frye at the First Christian Church in Albia. Two children, Tony and Ben, were born into this union. She remained deeply dedicated to her love for Bob and raising her two sons throughout her life. Becky was a proud graduate of the Albia Community High School Class of 1981 and was active in the concert and marching bands. As a teen, she developed her desire to serve others from behind the soda fountain at Hess Drug. She quickly advanced as a pharmacy technician at Hess Drug, Pamida Pharmacy, and, most recently, Hy-Vee Pharmacy. In this role, Becky was always willing to share her time and knowledge to help others find comfort. She also worked part-time at the China Inn and Snack Shack, where she enjoyed serving customers and developing lifelong friendships with her coworkers. Becky was a lifelong resident of Albia. She lived by her Christian faith, going above and beyond to help those in need. She was a dedicated lifetime member of the First Christian Church, where she served as an elder and on the Church Board. Always the eternal optimist, Becky was immensely generous with her time in serving others. Her genuine smile filled our hearts, her mischievous nature brightened our day, and her contagious laugh lifted our spirits. She had a big heart for all animals, especially her dogs, Sparky, Daisy, and Sam. Becky was a proud mother and grandmother who left behind two sons, Tony (Jessica) Frye and Ben Frye; a granddaughter, Daphne; her mother, Bonnie Hunt; two siblings, Dan Hunt (Carla) and Anna Conley; and a sister-in-law, Lisa (Todd) Willis. Several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive Becky. Becky is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob"; her father, Alfred "Al" Hunt; a brother, Anthony Wayne Hunt; 2 brothers-in-law, Ronnie Frye and Dennis Conley Sr.; a sister-in-law, Melinda Stewart; her parents-in-law, Bob and Jean Frye; a nephew, Kyle Walker; and a niece, Nicole Conley. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Becky’s family present throughout to greet family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at the First Christian Church in Albia, with Pastor John Sowers and Pastor Lynda Carlson co-officiating. Burial will follow services at Selection Cemetery in Albia.
