Juanita Nan Molle

Juanita Nan Molle, age 83, of Seymour, IA, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville, IA, surrounded by her loved ones. Juanita was born on May 16, 1940, at home in Walnut City, IA, to Lester and Ida (Elias) Walker. She grew up attending school and graduated from the Knoxville High School with the class of 1958. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Nichols in 1960 and to this union, 2 children, Les and Carl, were born. Kenneth preceded Juanita in death. In 1968, she was united in marriage to James Molle and to this union, 3 children, Brenda, Jim, and Teresa, were born. Juanita and James later divorced. Juanita later reunited with her high school sweetheart James Lafollette and gained a son, Eddy. Juanita worked at the Blue Jean Factory and the motel. She was a homemaker, with her biggest job in life being a mother. Juanita enjoyed being outdoors and camping. She also enjoyed coloring and playing Bingo. She looked forward to attending Pancake Days in Centerville each year. She was an excellent cook, known for her caramel dumplings. Juanita had a big heart and was very kind, loving and generous to all. Juanita’s family was everything to her and she cherished all of the time she spent with them. Juanita is survived by 5 children, Les (Linda) Nichols, Brenda Barber, Jim (Laura) Molle, Teresa (Chris) Conger, and Eddy Lafollette; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Nichols; a son, Carl; a great grandson, Joseph; her parents, Lester and Ida Walker; a son-in-law, John Barber; and her siblings, Melvin, Marvin, Leona, Elsie, Dorothy, and Oreleta. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Juanita’s family present to greet family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia. A private family burial will be held at Concord Cemetery in Mystic, IA, at a later date. An open memorial has been established to the family to be determined at a later date.
