Edna Grace Robinson

Edna Robinson, age 93 of Albia, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice at Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albia. Edna Grace Robinson was born on April 20, 1921 to Harry Clayton Shelquist and Mary (Forsythe) Shelquist. She married Arthur Robinson on January 17, 1942. Edna was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and was a teacher in country schools. Edna furthered her education at Indian Hills Community College. She was a bookkeeper and a certified public auditor at Peoples National Bank until her retirement in 1986. Edna was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and gardening as well as farming until late in her life. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Edna is survived by her daughters, Linda (Jerry) Morton, Sharon (Donald) Mason, Carol (Steve) Marlin, Mary (Chuck) Estrada and one son, Thomas Robinson, seven grandchildren Christine (Terry) Beaird, Matthew (Emily) Morton, Heather (Shawn) Etcher, Debbie (Shawn) Smith, Christopher Marlin, Brian (Dawn) Bell, and Aaron Estrada, nine great grandchildren, Caroline and William Morton, Noah, Jackson, and Addison Smith, Sara and Jonah Etcher, Tristian Marlin Resendiz, and Zoey Bell, four step-grandchildren, Danny (Shawna) Estrada, Chrissy (TJ) Mastin, Joseph (Crystal) Mason, and Annette (Tony) Babcock, 18 step-great grandchildren., Abby, Aaron, Grace Mason, Caanan Gassman, Ally, Anna, Andrew, Austin, Jose, Manuel, and Christina Babcock, Kyle McDanel, Chrissa and Terra Mastin, Rhealynn and Haylie Estrada, Jordan Kerr and Alexandra Hernadez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Shelquist, six brothers, Ivan, Carl, Richard, George, Paul and Harry, Jr. Shelquist, and one granddaughter, Theresa Lynn Bell. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, with John Van Weelden officiating. Burial will follow services at Service Chapel Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m.-8 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Edna's family present from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Condolences may be left for the family at www.tharpfh.com.
