Steve Stanley Sulentich Steve Stanley Sulentich, age 82, of Albia, died early Saturday morning, July 5, 2008, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, Iowa. Steve was born January 18, 1926 in Haydock, Iowa to John and Kata (Budak) Sulentich. As a young man Steve worked in the White Swan Coal Camp in Maryville, Iowa and the C.C.C. Camps in the thirty's. After working in the coal mines Steve worked railroad and bridge construction, and served on the Iowa Conservation Commission. Steve was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Albia, and he was also a member of the Eagles Club of Albia. Steve is survived by one brother, John Sulenitch of Albia; one sister, Mary Gatto of Oskaloosa. Steve is also survived many nieces and nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, John and Kata, six brothers, Louis, Antony, Emil, Joseph, Mike and Frank Sulentich, Steve is also preceded by on sister, Rose Norton. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Albia, with Rev. Michael E. Volkmer, C.PP.S., officiating. Burial will follow services. Visitation for Steve will also begin on Tuesday, July 8th, from 9 to 11:00 A.M., at the Winfield Funeral Home, with the family present. A Rosary service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday morning An open memorial has been established.
