Marylin May Corso

Marylin May Corso, age, 77, of Albia, died Friday July 18, 2008, at the Monroe Care Center in Albia, Iowa. Marylin was born May 13, 1931 in Hiteman, Iowa to James and Emma (Ryan) Carter. She attended Hiteman High School. She married John Angelo Corso on June 18, 1955 in Unionville, Missouri. Marylin was a homemaker and worked for Dr. Smith at Smith's Hospital in Albia. She also worked at Albia Community High School, and the Monroe County Hospital. Marylin was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; she was a past president of the 5th District. Marylin was also a Chaplain for Girls State, and volunteered her time at the VA Hospital in Knoxville. Marylin is survived by her husband; John A. Corso, her children; Cheryl Corso of Unionville, IA, Rosanna Nevils and her husband Gary of Harrisonville, MO, Kathy Griffin of Albia, IA, and John W. Corso of Albia, IA. She is also survived by five grandchildren; James P. Griffin, Robert J. McMurray and his wife Jodeann, Jessica Nevils, John J. Dicks, and Jeremy M. Dicks and one great-grandchild; Gavin McMurray. Marylin is preceded in death by her parents, James and Emma.
