Elizabeth Kae Morgan, age 77 of Lovilia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Pella Regional Hospital in Pella. Kae was born March 9, 1940, on the family farm in Lovilia, Iowa to Keith and Mary (Slay) Wells. She grew up and attended Lovilia High School graduating with the Class of 1957. On May 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lyle T. Morgan at the E.U.B. Church in Lovilia. To this union 3 children were born, Julie, Tom and Bill. They shared 52 years of marriage before Lyle’s passing on October 24, 2009. In her younger years, Kae was a talented piano player and played for many church services and funerals. She excelled in school enabling her to skip the 7th grade. She won the state typing championship in 1957. After graduation Kae was a legal secretary for Alfred and John Pabst Law Firm until retiring after 28 years. Throughout her life she was always very meticulous and even remembered how to write in short hand years after she learned it. Kae was a member of the Cross Roads Gospel Church in Attica. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and canning. Kae was also fond of being outside doing things such as camping and keeping her title as the best shot with a pistol in the family. She was an excellent cook who specialized in spaghetti and wild game dishes. She enjoyed her sweets, especially RC Ice Cream Floats and Honey Buns. Kae was selfless and always put others before herself. Kae is survived by her 3 children, Julie (Jeff) Trinkle of Albia, Tom (Teri) Morgan of Bussey and Bill (Teresa) Morgan of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff) Caudill, Joe (Natalie) Trinkle, Brittany (Adam) Kingery, Holly (Aaron) Labertew, Ashley Morgan, Katelyn (Eric) Clark, Hailey Groenendyk, Beth Morgan, Whittney (Jarrod Lee) Morgan, Taylor (Corey) Walker, Alissa Van Klootwyk and Heath Van Klootwyk; 6 great grandchildren, Jade Caudill, Janelle Caudill, Jett Trinkle, Ryleigh Labertew, McKennah Jackson and Ryder Smith; a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Ray) Conner and a brother, Jim (Marlene) Wells. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Morgan; her parents, Keith and Mary Wells; and 2 grandsons, Jeremy Trinkle and Zade Groenendyk. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Pastors Leo and Carol Freel officiating. Kae’s body will be cremated following services, and inurnment will be held at a later date in Union Chapel Cemetery, north of Albia. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Tharp Funeral Home, with Kae's family present to greet family and friends. Memorials have been established to the Lovilia First Responders, Lovilia Community Center or to Cross Roads Gospel Church.
