Cecelia "CeCe" Joyce Wilcoxson

January 3, 1951 - March 11, 2022

Cecelia “CeCe” Joyce Wilcoxson, age 71, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, IA. CeCe was born on January 3, 1951, in Moline, IL. She grew up attending school and graduated from Riverdale High School in Port Bryon, IL. CeCe was blessed with 2 children, Michael and Rick. CeCe completed the Auto Mechanics program at Indian Hills Community College and worked a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the Cedar Hills Community Church in Cedar Rapids. CeCe was very talented in many areas. She was an exceptional woodworker who could make anything, from all kinds of beautiful furniture pieces to doll houses. She enjoyed getting together with her sister and niece annually to make Christmas candy to share with others. CeCe was a friend to everyone, was extremely generous and always willing to help anyone in need. Family was everything to CeCe and she cherished all of the time spent with them. CeCe is survived by a son, Rick Jewell of Centerville, IA; 3 grandchildren, Hailey, Lexi, and Beckett Jewell of Centerville, IA; and 2 sisters, Cheryl (Terry) Carrier of Harrisburg, IL and Dotty Stewart of Cedar Rapids, IA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews. CeCe was preceded in death by a son, Michael Jewell; a granddaughter, Jasmine Jewell; her mother, Mary Lou Shilling; 2 siblings, Jennifer (Mike) Pechman and Merilee Dufault; a brother-in-law, Charlie Stewart; and a nephew, John Paul Unger. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with CeCe’s family present to greet family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Rev. Jack Jackson officiating. A private family burial will be held at Osborn Cemetery near Lovilia, IA, at a later date. An open memorial has been established to the family.
